Eat the good stuff. Make heart-healthy meals at home at least three times a week. Make sure that whole grains, fruits, veggies and fish are on the menu. Lower the salt in your recipes, try swapping out salt for fresh or dried herbs and spices.
Avoid cigarettes, vaping and second-hand smoke. Smoking can raise your risk of heart disease and heart attack. It affects every cell in your body. If you can’t stop on your own, ask your doctor for help.
Manage stress. Keep your stress levels in check. Why? It can affect your health by causing high blood pressure and damage to your arteries. Release your stress through exercise and relaxation methods, like yoga.
Know your resting heart rate. Lower is better. Make it a goal to keep your heart rate in a healthy range.
